Abstract

It could be shown that ADAMS is a powerful simulation tool to handle dynamic problems during the development phase of high speed machine tools. Furthermore it can be stated that it takes a huge time effort for the development engineer if there exist various construction parameters. For this reason a especially adjusted software was self-developed. Concerning the prototype construction it must be confessed that the simulation results reveal deviations to an extent that would make this structural component useless for the application in high speed machine tools. But, the control concept is not as sophisticated modeled as it is in reality and moreover the simulation was carried out with time steps of 0.005 s which corresponds to a frequency of 200 Hz. In reality a sampling frequency of 20 kHz will be used what divides the length of the time steps by 100. Thus, deviations will be detected earlier so that reactions also can take place much earlier.
