The imes works on both fundamental research and application oriented projects (often in close cooperation with industrial partners), characterized by a high degree of interdisciplinarity. An overview of current and completed projects can be found in the Research section.
The institute shows strong commitment to student education and gives lectures on dynamical systems, robotics, and mechatronics including mechatronics in automotive and medical applications.
